A key objective of national project activities in the Philippines is to deploy and evaluate commercially available, non-incineration healthcare waste treatment technologies appropriate to the country's needs. Because the problems in healthcare waste management stem from a failure of both practice and technology, this project is addressing this challenge in the Philippines and elsewhere by demonstrating an alternative systems approach to healthcare waste management.
